In Britain the first organised Firefighting is believed to have originated during the Roman invasion in AD43. But when the Romans left Britain Firefighting fell into a decline and many towns burned down due to the lack of Firefighters, regulations and standards. However, The Great Fire of London in 1666 changed all this and it set in motion changes that laid the foundations for the amazing and world-renowned UK Fire and Rescue Service we have today. Many things have changed, but one constant that will never, is Firefighter’s Courage, Compassion and Community!
The ‘UK Fire and Rescue Service Tartan Range’ is the only officially registered tartan in the world, to pay tribute to all UK Fire and Rescue Service Personnel. And is fully endorsed by the UK Fire and Rescue Service.
This is the basis of our UK Fire and Rescue Service Tartan Range.
