Formed in 1793, the Royal Horse Artillery (RHA) initially provided mobile fire support to the cavalry. Today, its regiments carry out a variety of artillery combat roles and ceremonial duties. Of the 21 regiments in the Royal Artillery, 1 RHA and 7th Parachute Regiment RHA are field artillery and 3 RHA provides Multi Launch Rocket Systems. The King’s Troop RHA deliver all ceremonial events including the firing of Royal Salutes to mark the grand occasions of State, including The King’s Birthday Parade, Royal Birthdays and Births.

The ‘Royal Horse Artillery Tartan’ is the only officially registered tartan in the world, to pay respect to the Royal Horse Artillery. And is fully endorsed by the Royal Horse Artillery.
