The Royal Welsh was formed in 2006 by the amalgamation of The Royal Welch Fusiliers and The Royal Regiment of Wales, two distinguished infantry regiments of the line, whose legacy goes back to the year 1689. The Royal Welsh exists to represent the people of Wales, serve the United Kingdom and to enforce its interests at home and overseas. The Royal Welsh Motto is, “Death Rather Than Dishonour” or you can say, “Gwell Angau Na Chywilydd”!
The ‘Royal Welsh Tartan’ is the only officially registered tartan in the world, to pay tribute to The Royal Welsh. And is fully endorsed by The Royal Welsh.
